Interesting cash prizes await top
shutterbugs in the upcoming Brunei Tourism Photo Contest 2004.
Open to all including expatriates
(green I/C holders), the contest is organised and sponsored by the
Tourism Development Division, Ministry of Industry and Primary
Resources, with cooperation from the Brunei Photographic Society.
Split into categories A, B, C and D,
the contest carries two themes - 'Happy Children of Brunei' and
'Cultural Heritage' - which are for the print and digital categories
respectively.
The top prize winners in categories A
and B (print category) will each receive B$1,500, while the second and
third place winners will each earn B$1,000 and $500 respectively.
Fourth and fifth place consolation winners will bag $300 and $200
respectively.
Meanwhile, the first place winners in
categories C and D (digital category) will receive B$1,200 each. The
second to fifth place winners will return home with B$800, B$400,
B$250 and B$200 respectively.
All photographs must have been
captured here within the year 2004.
Participants can send a maximum of 4
colour print size shots (11R) for categories A and B (Colour Negative/
Slides). A minimum of 4 colour print size 8R pictures may be submitted
for categories C and D.
Every print must include original
negative/slide for categories A and B, while for categories C and D,
every print must include original file of images (JPEG only) in a CD
or floppy disk.
Creative techniques and manipulation
on computer are allowed. Every entry must be truly the work of the
photographer.
The closing date is on November 30,
and the judging date will be on December 3. Meanwhile, the prize
presentation and exhibition dates will be between December 30 and
January 3, 2005.
