Residents thankful for crackdown
on crime
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Residents at Kg Junjungan and Kg
Limau Manis expressed their gratitude to the Limau Manis police for
their efforts in cracking down on crimes in their areas.
They commended the police for
apprehending several suspects who were involved in various criminal
activities reported in the two villages.
Such effort has resulted in a
reduction in the number of crimes like robberies and thefts, they
added.
The residents concerned said the
recent arrests of four suspects including two who were in possession
of a large number of gold jewelleries have helped to prevent criminal
activities in Kg Junjungan and Kg Limau Manis.
The two villages have been considered
black areas where thefts have been frequently reported until recently.
A retired teacher whose house was
broken into twice thanked the personnel from the Limau Manis Police
Station for their efforts in cracking down on crimes.
Meanwhile, the Limau Manis police
hoped that the villagers in the two areas would continue to cooperate
with them, not only in solving crimes but also to stop them.
The police also called on the
residents to notify them on any houses to be left vacant, even for one
night only.
"We would be grateful if the
occupants of houses who wish to go travelling and leave their houses
empty to inform us about it.
"By doing so, we can increase our
surveillance on houses left empty by them," said the police.
