Cartoonist Workshop grabs the children

During the 12th Asean Council and Library meeting at the ICC, several activities took place in the Children's Corner for the younger visitors to the event, such as story-telling and a cartoonist workshop.

The Cartoonist Workshop was taught by Awang Jaafar Taib (pic above) and attracted children of all ages. The aim of the workshop was to bring out the artist in every child and help them hone their drawing skills. One drawing from each session of the workshop was chosen to be published in a children's book called "Anak Tupai dan Ketam".

The participants for the morning session were from Sekolah Rendah Delima Satu, Sekolah Rendah Haji Mohd Salleh Sungai Hanching and Sekolah Bakti Dewa. Participants for the afternoon consisted of students from PGGMB School, St. George's School, Sekolah Rendah Raja Isteri Fatimah and Sekolah Rendah Pintu Malim.

The Children's Corner was organised by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Brunei.
