Brunet Migration To New Network May Disrupt Email Services
By CT Hj Mahmod

Bandar Seri Begawan - Internet users are advised to download their emails before Sunday, Oct 26, due to Jabatan Telekom Brunei’s (JTB) plans to migrate BruNet to a new network.

BruNet (all Internet-related services including Leased Line, NetKad, e-speed and 097) said that in its efforts to improve the performance of the Internet services, BruNet will be migrating to a new network.

A press statement issued by BruNet Network Operation Centre yesterday said that part of the migration plan will involve Brunei email services which will be affected between 12 midnight to 5 a.m. on said day.

During these hours, however, customers will still be able to send emails as normal but will not be able to download or access web email through pop3.brunet.bn.

JTB said it will endeavour to maintain its services and avoid any major disruptions and sincerely apologised for any inconvenience caused. BruNet customers’ continued support is highly appreciated, it added.
