HSBC Deepavali Reception
By Lyna Mohammad

Bandar Seri Begawan - HSBC yesterday hosted a Deepavali reception at the banking hall of its main branch in the capital and was attended by more than 100 customers and family members.

Mr Marcus Hurry, CEO of HSBC, was on hand to welcome the guests including the Indian High Commissioner to Brunei, Mr Ajai Choudhry and his wife.

In his welcoming speech, Mr Hurry stated that the world's local bank always looked for ways to recognise diversity in the countries and communities where HSBC operates.

The hosting of the reception not only gave them the opportunity to celebrate but also to meet its customers in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

"In its offices around the world, my colleagues in the community of HSBC are also inviting guests, customers and colleagues to similar Deepavali functions in HSBC banking halls from Osaka to Oman, from Brunei to Bahrain and from London to New York., not forgetting our 38 branches in India," he said.

The highlight of the reception yesterday was the presentation of garland (floral decorations) by Mr Hurry to Mr Ajai Choudhry and his wife.
