Two Fleeing Chicken Smugglers Face Justice

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two Bruneians have been brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for trying to smuggle into the country 551.9 kilogrammes of chicken wing and 33.5 kilogrammes of frozen meat of dubious origin.

Officers from the Bandar Seri Begawan Customs Preventive Unit arrested both men during a raid last Tuesday night on the Kampong Salar Industrial Area in Muara.

The success story began at 5.30am when the law enforcement officers tried to block off a car used by the suspects.

Instead of stopping, the suspects tried to make a run for it and subsequently hit the customs vehicle.

On inspection of the would be runaway car, it was found to contain the said dubious consignments that was valued at around $3,170.
