Belait Transit Homes Ready For Those Who Waited

Kuala Belait - Applicants awaiting resettlement to new homes through the Belait Housing Development Scheme will be allocated temporary shelter with the completion of 44 units of two-storey terrace houses.

Built at a cost of $1.8 million, the construction of the terrace houses by a local company in September 2001 was completed early July this year.

Each unit consists three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. To date, the Belait Housing Development Derpartment has received more than 300 applications for the transit homes.

The handing over of keys to the new terrace house was held yesterday morning. Noolaila Jaya Company, a local contractor, presented the keys to the Deputy Director of Housing, Pengiran Mohiddin Bin Pengiran Moahamd Daud, who in turn gave the keys to the Belait Housing Development Officer, Awang Pungut Haji Mohamad Daud. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
