Customs Officer Gets Jail For Assault

Bandar Seri Begawan - An Acting Senior Customs Officer was jailed for a month after being found guilty before the Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for causing hurt to Hjh Rathiah Abdullah, an education officer.

Hj Junaidi Hj Abu Bakar, 47, was convicted of assaulting the woman in Kg Beribi on October 9, 2001. The Magistrates’ Court after considering that the defendant has eight children reduced a three-month imprisonment term to a month’s jail. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
