Unemployed Man Denies 7 Drug Charges
By Malai FadleyRizal & Rol Ezam

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 27-year-old unemployed man was released on a $6,000 bail or two local sureties after denying seven charges of consuming Methylamphetamine before the Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Rosyadi Abdullah, NCB prosecutor told the court, was alleged to have committed the seven charges against him while undergoing the NCB Supervision Programme since July 2000. The prosecutor added that Rosyadi had absconded until he was arrested in Kuala Belait yesterday morning.

Senior Magistrate Radin Safiee heard that the prosecution would be bringing in eight witnesses to prove the case beyond the court’s reasonable doubt while the defendant would present one witness and himself to prove his innocence.

The court yesterday granted the prosecution’s application for the defendant to report every once a week to the NCB office during working hours.

A trial date was set for February 7 at 9 am. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
