Kuala Lumpur
By Rol Ezam
Kuala Lumpur -
A 25-year-old Bruneian man got a shock of his life when three
men robbed him at knifepoint while on a visit to Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia’s capital city, last week.
The incident happened as the victim,
who wished to remain anonymous, was walking down the street at
well-known ‘Chinatown’ at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock when suddenly three
men approached him.
“One of the three asked me for $10. I
told them I don’t have money with me. Then one of the men pointed a
knife at my neck,” the man related the incident to the Bulletin
yesterday.
He said he was terrified and tried to
run away, but two of them caught both his hands.
“The trio threatened to kill me if I
ran away. They then took out my wallet,” he said.
According to him, the trio ran away
with B$300 and RM 400 in cash and his Nokia 7650 cell phone.
“But before they ran away they gave
back my wallet with RM10, which they said was for my taxi fare,” the
man said.
He said he was disappointed to see
people walking past him and no one tried to come to his help.
He said he reported the incident to
