Dates for residents in Kg Lambak Kiri

Residents of Kampung Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati in Kampung Lambak Kiri and its nearby areas yesterday afternoon received dates at a distribution ceremony held at the residence of Awang Haji Hamdani Bin Omar, the village head of Kampung Lambak Kiri.

Also present at the ceremony were several members from the Foundation Board of Directors, Acting Brunei-Muara district officer, Penghulu Mukim, officials and staff of the Foundation.

As stated by HRH Prince Abdul Malik during the official launching ceremony at the International Convention Centre, distribution of dates to every citizen in the country will be conducted efficiently. "The task for distribution of dates is the responsibility of those who had been appointed and I believe with the experience and intellect of the available resources, the intention of my father will be properly achieved," said HRH Prince Abdul Malik.

This year, approximately 360,000 boxes of dates each weighing about 300 grammes will be given to Muslims throughout the country regardless of age.

Dates are usually consumed by Muslims when breaking their fast in the month of Ramadhan.

This year, it is the responsibility of village heads to further distribute the dates to their respective residents.
