IEE Brunei holds 5th AGM
Institute of Electrical Engineers
held its 5th Annual General Meeting last weekend at Orchid Garden
Hotel in the capital, said a press release.
Chairman of the branch in Brunei, Hj
Sapawi Bolhassan, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the committee and
members for their active participation in the activities relentlessly
organised.
Some of the AGM's highlights were the
chairman's annual report, treasurer's financial report, appointment of
new auditors and certificate presentation to former auditors.
There was unanimous support and
approval from members present to endorse the extension of the present
committee term to January 2004 in order to realign the financial
reporting.
This would allow reporting from
January to December of the preceding year instead of partial ones
currently practised since its inauguration on November 29, 1997.
Members were also enlightened by the
presentation of a technical talk on Electro-Magnetic Compatibility
[EMC] by vice chairman, Dr William Voon.
The meeting concluded with a
get-together buffet dinner.
