Around 20 people from "BETUAH" Youth
Camp (pictured above) made an educational visit to Brunei Press Sdn
Bhd yesterday. They were accompanied by five officers from the
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, headed by Pg Nordin Pg Hj
Mahmud.
The participants of the youth camp
comprises of selected youth from the four districts who are still
looking for employment.
The visit aims to expose participants
to the working environment. It also hopes to prepare them - both
physically and mentally - to become more independent individuals when
they find work.
On hand to brief the visitors
yesterday was Michele Lo, Marketing Executive of Brunei Press.
The group was first taken around the
advertisement section followed by the editorial section of the Media
Permata and Borneo Bulletin. From the editorial section, they later
visited various departments involved in printing and publication such
as the commercial printing department, binding section and pre-press.
According to Pg Nordin, the visit was
the second in the youth camp's visit itinerary, the first being made
last week where the group visited the Royal Brunei Police Force
Headquarters in Gadong. He also stated that more visits will follow
which include visits to government departments and private sectors.
