Kg Kelugos to have new mosque

Kampong Kelugos in the Tutong District will soon have a new mosque. Yesterday morning, the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the mosque was held at the site, RTB reported.

The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Mohamad Zain bin Haji Serudin and the Minister of Development, Dato Seri Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Ahmad were among those who were involved in the ceremony.

The construction of the new mosque is expected to be completed in February next year at a cost of more than one million dollars. The money for the construction comes from the Asnaf Al-Gharimin tithe collection.

The new mosque is located in Kampong Kelugos, Jalan Sinaut, Tutong. It can accommodate 700 male worshippers and a congregation of 100 females.

The facilities to be provided include a multi-purpose hall, a library, a store room, male and female ablution areas and parking lots for 80 vechiles.
