The $1.8-million Kg Pandan Lapan
Housing Scheme in Kuala Belait had so far received 300 applications
from Brunei citizens who are qualified under the government-housing
scheme. These applications are still under the process of appraisal.
To date, 44 completed units at the
housing scheme had been allocated as temporary accommodation for
qualified people who needed housing for emergency purposes, stated Awg
Pungut Hj Mohd Daud, a Housing Development Officer in Kuala Belait.
Yesterday, a key presentation
ceremony for 4 blocks comprising 44 units was held. The developer, Pg
Omar Hj Md Said of Norlilajaya Construction handed over the keys to
the Deputy Director of Housing Development, Pg Mohidin Pg Md Daud.
The occupants of the temporary units
are paying around $100 a month for occupying the houses. The
double-storey terrace houses have three bedrooms and a bathroom on the
upper floor and the ground floor has a spacious living room, a toilet
and a kitchen.
