Compare And Study Says Foundation
Managing Director
Bandar Seri
Begawan – To attempt to understand the Asean literature,
Bruneians must first study the local situation and the country's own
achievement, the value and the special features as well as the
strength of its literature.
It will be clear when it can be seen
in the form of, or in the comparative contexts.
This was stated by Dato Awang Haji
Abdul Ghani the Managing Director Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah
Foundation at the official closing of the international seminar on
Asean comparative literature.
Through the comparative methods, said
the society will be able to understand and appreciate their own
literature more accurately, clearly and with transparency.
Such assessment is important in the
effort to restore and upgrade the status of the local literature.
He hoped the resolution derived from
the seminar as well as other conclusions can be implemented wisely,
especially in fulfilling the country's desire to upgrade Brunei's
literature, as well as Asean literature in general.
Eighteen working papers by local and
foreign experts were discussed at the seminar.
They touched on issues and compared
