Brunei Scouts Focus On Temburong
In Air Jamboree
Bangar
(Temburong) - More than 50 members of the Brunei Scout
Federation took part in a annual Air Jamboree yesterday.
Awang
Haji Mohd Yusof, the Temburong District Officer, declared it open. The
occasion was also celebrated simultaneously in the other three
districts to enable the scouts to interact with each other at the
national as well as international levels.
The jamboree brought together more
than 50 scouts. This is the first time the Temburong District hosted
such gathering since 1999.
The air jamboree enabled the scouts
to interact with their counterparts in the other districts as well as
outside Brunei using radio control.
The access gave them an opportunity
to enhance their understanding and widen their horizon about each
other's way of life and socio-culture by exchanging views and ideas.
Topics such as education, information
and telecommunication technologies and current issues are all relevant
to the cause of the Scouts Federation, an official said. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
