Beware Of Those Who Question Al-Sunnah Warns Official

Bandar Seri Begawan - The community today has to face various groups of people who question the evidence of Al-Sunnah.

The Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs said the confusion about the issue could be due to their ignorance about Islamic teaching or other reasons.

Awang Haji Yusoff Bin Haji Ismail mentioned the subject when he opened a seminar on the importance of Al-Sunnah and its practice within the Brunei Muslim society.

He said if the Sunnah is not functioning as a source of law, he feared Muslims will face dilemma in performing their religious obligations such as prayers, fasting, pilgrimage and paying the tithe.

This is because in the Quranic verses mention about Al-Sunnah in a general overview.

More than a hundred participants made up of students of University Brunei Darussalam and individuals attended the seminar.

Apart from trying to identify the standard practice of Sunnah by the Muslim society, the seminar also tried to expose the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW in various aspects of life.
