The Queen Attends Royal Birthday
Police Wife’s Party

Begawan - Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha yesterday
afternoon attended a function organized by the welfare body of the
wives and families of police personnel, Pekerti in honour of Her
Majesty's birthday.
Upon arrival at the officers’ mess of
the Police Headquarters in Gadong, members of the Pekerti executive
committee led by their President, Pengiran Datin Hajah Sarifah Binti
Pengiran Haji Zaini, greeted Her Majesty.
The Royal entourage included Her
Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah, Her Royal
Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah
Amal Umi Khalthum Al Islam.
The party started with a choir by the
members of the association.
Her Majesty then cut the birthday
cake. This was followed by a presentation of a souvenir to Her Majesty
by the organising committee. Members of the association later
performed a number of songs and staged traditional dances.
Before leaving Her Majesty received
greetings and wishes from Pekerti members. Her Majesty is the royal
patron of the association. Formed in 1985, Pekerti now has more than
3,000 members.
Part of the association's mission is
to upgrade, improve and strengthen the solidarity among its members.
Pekerti has taken the incentive to send its members overseas to learn
