Brunei Ruler Leaves For Bangkok
For APEC Summit

Kuala Lumpur -
His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah the Sultan of Brunei
yesterday evening left Kuala Lumpur for Bangkok, after attending the
10th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference of the OIC.
His Majesty will be attending the
11th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) in Bangkok from today till
Tuesday.
Present at the Sultan Salahuddin
Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang to bid farewell to His Majesty was the
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology and Environment of Malaysia,
Dato Zainal Dahlan, and other senior officials of the Malaysian
government.
Also present were the High
Commissioner of Brunei to Malaysia, His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji
Abdullah Bin Haji Mohd Jaafar and officials of the High Commission.
Before the departure, a Doa Selamat
prayer was read by the State Mufti, Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul
Aziz Bin Juned. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince
Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The closing ceremony of the 10th
Session of the Islamic Summit of the OIC was held yesterday evening
with the endorsement and adoption of the final communiqué and the
Putrajaya declaration. About 100 resolutions were also adopted. The
conference also announced that the 11th Session of Islamic Summit
Conference would be held in Senegal in 2006.
During the summit, His Majesty
delivered a titah in support of the theme "Knowledge And Morality And
The Unity And Dignity For The Ummah". His Majesty also visited the O1C
