Brunei First Asian Country To
Receive Al-Jazeera On SMS

Begawan - Brunei will be the first country in Asia to retrieve
latest world news from Al-Jazeera via mobile phones through the Short
Message Service technology, Wizad 888-55-55.
This will be another milestone for
DST Communication in its effort to expand its services to its valued
customers.
A signing ceremony was conducted
yesterday morning between DST and Lifetree for the Al-Jazeera content
provider, which offers a comprehensive coverage of world affairs and
developments.
Signing of behalf of DST Group was
its managing director, Pengiran Haji Moiiamad Zin while Lifetree
Convergence represented by its Chief Executive Officer Mr Atul Chopra.
Present to witness the signing was
the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka
Awang Haji Hazair and India's High Commissioner to the country, His
Excellency Ajai Choudhry.
By simply typing "ALJ News" and
sending it to 888-5555, consumers can obtained the latest news around
the world.
The Al-Jazeera News contents are
retrieved directly from Lifetree's content server in India over the
internet. Al-Jazeera will update their news content 2 to 3 times
daily.
Customers will be charged 30 cents
