His Majesty Points Out
Difficulties Facing OIC
Putrajaya
- The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will adopt
resolutions and issued the Putrajaya declaration at the close of its
10th Session of the Summit in Malaysia yesterday evening.
The OIC countries also yesterday held
a general debate on issues that are likely to be covered in the final
communique.
Conference sources said the OIC
leaders will reaffirm their strong support for the Palestinians living
under the Israeli occupation.
The 57-member organization will also
show solidarity with Syria over the recent Israeli attack on its
territory.
In a statement at the general debate
of the summit yesterday, His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei said every
leader is aware of the effects they have on day-to-day lives of their
people and the challenges they present to stability and order.
His Majesty added that OIC faces the
same difficulties as the organization's colleagues from other
societies.
The monarch also declared that OIC
must face the unique challenge of representing Islamic nations and
Muslim people. OIC has to do this at a time of great confusion all
over the world.
