Suspects In Theft Of Railings Released On Court Bail

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Royal Brunei Armed Forces corporal and three local men suspected of stealing 19 aluminium railings belonging to the Government of Brunei were each released on court bail of $1,500 or one local surety on Thursday pending the prosecution seeking further instruction from the Public Prosecutor regarding the case.

The defendants are Corporal 10718 Muhd Nurasmi Abdullah, 29, Masdawadi Mohd Edham, 21, Hilmi Abdullah Bolhasan, 18, and Mohd Nob Edham, 18.

While released, Muhd Nurasmi and Mohd Noh were ordered to report to the Tutong Police Station, while Masdawadi and Hilmi has to report to Lamunin Police Station once a week, said Pg Nina Jasmine Pg Hj Bahrin, the prosecuting officer.

No plea has been taken.

All of them were charged over the theft of six aluminium railings on or about September 23 this year at about 11:15 pm at Penanjong Camp Bridge in Tutong.

They were also charged over the theft of thirteen aluminium Tailings on or about September 29 this year at about 4:10 pm at the same place in Tutong.

The defendants will reappear in court on November 6 for further mention. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
