Kg Batong gets a new Village Head

Haji Sharbini bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Moksin.

Village Heads play an important role
and holds high responsibility towards the development and harmony of
their village.
This was stressed by Dato Paduka Haji
Md Yusof Haji Md Hassan, the guest of honour at the certificate
presentation and appointment ceremony for the new Village Head of
Kampong Batong.
Also present at the ceremony was Pg
Abd Haris Pg Haji Shabudin, Acting District Officer for Brunei and
Muara District.
One of the roles of a Village Head is
to relay information between the government of His Majesty to the
villagers.
Dato
Paduka Haji Md Yusof also stressed that the role of the Village Head
not only lies in ensuring the well being of the villagers but also to
be responsible and ensures harmony within the village.
The newly appointed Village Head of
Kg Batong, Awang Haji Sharbini bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka
Awang Haji Moksin was a Senior Technician Assistant at the Ministry of
Religious Affair from 1986 and 1996.
Awang
Haji Tahir bin Hj Tarip, the previous Village Head for Kg Batong from
1993 to 2002 now holds the post of Penghulu Mukim Pengkalan Batu.
Currently, there are about 590 people
residing in Kg Batong.
