By James Kon

As part of a series of events to mark
the 20th year of Australian diplomatic representation in Brunei
Darussalam, an art exhibition by David Kelly called "Horizon" was
launched yesterday afternoon by Mr Allaster Cox at the high
commissioner's residence.
"Horizon," which will be displayed
until October 19 this Sunday, is jointly inspired by the vast
Australian landscape and dense jungles of Borneo.
Over forty pieces are offered for a
reasonable price, including the Rainforest, Penan Jungle, Nepabunna,
Whiteoak and Black Ridge.
David Kelly, Director of Art
Department in JIS, has stayed in the Sultanate for about six years.
In an interview, he revealed that he
started drawing since he was in secondary education.
He loves to draw from what he feels
and his emotion.
He said that it is hard to put a
price on artworks and they are not done for profit.
Therefore, costs have been based on
effort and time put into the respective painting.
