HSBC blood donation

Chief Executive Officer of HSBC, Marcus Hurry (right) donating blood.
Under the theme of "Save a life, give
blood today", The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC)
launched a blood donation campaign to help the National Blood Reserve
Bank at RIPAS yesterday.
The blood donation drive was
organised by the HSBC Sports and Social Club and supported by the
management of HSBC as an example of its 'HSBC in the community'
activities.
Mr
Marcus Hurry, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC, noted that blood
donation is not a new activity for HSBC.
In recent years, HSBC team members
have donated blood to the National Blood Donation Unit at RIPAS
through personal initiative and in support of other blood donation
campaigns.
Mr
Hurry said, "We are pleased that our members of staff have such a
strong sense of community responsibility.
As "The world's local Bank" HSBC
works hard to act in new and creative ways to be an engaged member of
the local community and in the case of more traditional support, as
through blood donations, will continue to make this campaign an annual
community event.
The organiser, Awang Rosli Haji Haron
said that more than 70 staff and customers of HSBC donated blood in
the one-day campaign.
As a gesture of appreciation,
staff-donors receive a T-shirt from the organiser and a certification
of appreciation.
