Sunshine School holds Maths Olympiad

Maths whiz of the year, Ryan G. Umali receives his prize from the Assistant Principal of Sunshine School.

The Mathematics Department of Sunshine School led by its coordinator Mrs Conchita Urcia, and through the collaborative efforts of Teachers Celia, Lucy and Wilma organised a Maths Olympiad for pupils from Primary Three, Four and Five yesterday.

The contest was held at the Science Laboratory of the school. It was a neck to neck battle of the brains for the students who vied to answer the simplest mechanical computations to the most complex word problems.

Team A which comprised of Ryan G.Umali, Nurul Amirah Abdul Latip, Md Wafiuddin Nordin, Nazurah Md Noor, Bazillah Ali and Ilisa Ishan emerged as the champion team while Ryan G.Umali of Primary 5 Blue was proclaimed Maths Wizard of the Year.

Mrs Naziancina G. Ward, Assistant Principal of the school presented prizes to the winners.
