Bandar Seri Begawan - A drug offender got the minimum sentence of three years jail yesterday when he pleaded guilty to two charges of consuming Methylamphetamine.

Durahman Ahmad was also fined $500 or a month in jail each for two offences of failing to report himself to the Supervision Officer of the Narcotic Control Bureau.

He failed to pay the fine and will serve the default sentence, ordered to run consecutively, with his other sentence.

NCB prosecutor, Pg Othman Pg Hj Ali said yesterday the defendant was sentenced by the Senior Magistrate Hj Abdullah Soefri to three years jail term each on the two consuming offences, on October 2 and October 16, 1999.

The two sentences were ordered to run concurrently.

Pg Othman said the NCB officers of Supervision and Investigation unit detained the defendant on February 19, 2000.

His urine samples taken on both dates were found to contain a class A controlled drug.
