Creative Art Moulds Child’s Moral
Nature
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Drawing and creative art can mould a person's moral
nature to be more sensitive to, and aware of, his surrounding
environment.
Dr Haji Abdul Latif Bin Haji Ibrahim,
Special Duties Officer at the Ministry of Education, said art and
drawing is still relevant and runs parallel to the progress and
requirements in other fields.
He said the belief that the subject
art is not important today is incorrect.
He was speaking at the presentation
of prizes to the winners of the 36th Drawing and Creative Art
Exhibition for primary and secondary schools as well as colleges.
According to Dr Haji Abdul Latif Bin
Haji Ibrahim, such personification makes him feel that he's part of
the environment, encourages him to become a responsible person and
appreciates his talents apart from having high self-discipline.
The exhibition received a tremendous
response from students all over the country.
More than 1,500 drawings and creative
art have been submitted to the organising committee.
From that figure, only 140 pieces of
art were put on display at this exhibition.
Among the winners was the grand
daughter of His Majesty, Princess Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah Binti
Pengiran Anak Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahim.
Princess Raheemah was awarded the
excellent prize in Category 'B' for Primary One to Primary Three
pupils.
The overall winner in the category of
secondary schools and colleges was the Chung Hwa Secondary School.
Meanwhile, the Jangsak PDS School was
the winner in the primary schools category.
The three-day exhibition, which is
open to the public during office hours, is being held at the Art
Gallery of the Handicraft and Training Centre Building in Jalan
Residency.
