Last Minute preparations - the Brunei
pavilion at the Expo OIC
at Putrajaya, Malaysia is now ready to be viewed by visitors.
Putrajaya,
Malaysia - THE Brunei Pavilion at the OIC Expo 2003 is bound to
be a star attraction among visitors during the summit of the
Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) this week in Malaysia, the
mass circulating Star reported yesterday.
The report praised the unique Islamic
design and combination of colours at the Brunei pavilion.
The Star also said visitors to the
OIC Expo 2001 in Malaysia from Oct 14 to 19 will have the opportunity
to view the collection of Islamic items of His Majesty the Sultan and
of Brunei.
An official at the Brunei Pavilion
Secretariat, Pengiran Ibrahim Pengiran Bakar, said the collection
included Islamic manuscripts and copies of the Quran dating back 900
years as well as other items such as prayer beads and walking sticks.
Visitors would also have the
opportunity to see handwritten copies of the Quran produced by the
Universiti Brunei, he said when inspecting the preparations for the
exhibition at the expo site here.
Pengiran
Ibrahim said the Brunei exhibits would also feature the socio-economic
and welfare aspects of the sultanate and its system of Islamic banking
