at Putrajaya, Malaysia is now ready to be viewed by visitors.

Putrajaya, Malaysia - THE Brunei Pavilion at the OIC Expo 2003 is bound to be a star attraction among visitors during the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) this week in Malaysia, the mass circulating Star reported yesterday.

The report praised the unique Islamic design and combination of colours at the Brunei pavilion.

The Star also said visitors to the OIC Expo 2001 in Malaysia from Oct 14 to 19 will have the opportunity to view the collection of Islamic items of His Majesty the Sultan and of Brunei.

An official at the Brunei Pavilion Secretariat, Pengiran Ibrahim Pengiran Bakar, said the collection included Islamic manuscripts and copies of the Quran dating back 900 years as well as other items such as prayer beads and walking sticks.

Visitors would also have the opportunity to see handwritten copies of the Quran produced by the Universiti Brunei, he said when inspecting the preparations for the exhibition at the expo site here.

Pengiran Ibrahim said the Brunei exhibits would also feature the socio-economic and welfare aspects of the sultanate and its system of Islamic banking and finance. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
