Raid On Restaurants And Foreign Workers In Temburong

Bangar, Temburong – A joint operation was conducted at various places around Temburong District on Friday night.

The targets were restaurants and foreign workers' quarters.

The operation involved officers from the Royal Brunei Police Force, Immigration and Royal Customs and Excise Departments.

The operation was conducted in Kampong Negalang, Lakiun, Piasau Piasau and Batu Bejarah.

During the operation, smuggled alcoholic drinks and cigarettes were confiscated.

On the same day, the police arrested a Malaysian man, Ibrahim Bin Abdullah when he was found smuggling petrol out of the country.

He was stopped as he tried to cross the border using the Ujung Jalan Ferry.

Further investigations had revealed that he entered the country illegally and the road tax of his car had expired. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
