Come Early Say Doctors About That
Lump
Bandar Seri Begawan – Early detection
on breast cancer can save life.
There is 80 to 90 per cent survival
rate when breast cancer is diagnosed at its first stage before it
spreads to the other parts of the body.
A patient who is suffering from the
disease since 1995 told Radio Television Brunei (RTB) that she first
discovered a lump after she attend a breast cancer patient who just
had an operation.
It was after this event that she was
more aware of the symptom and discovered her condition.
Since then she underwent a biopsy
operation as well as chemotherapy at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak
Hajah Saleha (RIPAS) hospital.
Last April she underwent further
therapy at the Damansara Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
She is now recovering and currently
receives further treatment at RIPAS hospital.
She stressed that all women are at
risk of breast cancer and urged them to have an early breast medical
check up.
Another patient who has a similar
condition since late last year is Mrs Betty Macaspac.
She sought immediate medical
attention and also undergoing similar treatment. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
