Brunei’s Twin Evils: Teenage Pregnancy And Jobs

Bandar Seri Begawan – Brunei is to pay particular attention to two social ills, teenage pregnancy and jobs.

Ms Raka Rashid the Regional Director of Commonwealth Youth Programme of Asia Centre from India, said Brunei has prepared two specific project proposals namely: teenage pregnancy and employment.

The proposal, she added, are to be presented to the government for approval and implementation.

Meanwhile the regional workshop on social issues affecting young women ended today with two specific deliberations in which every member country prepared action plan which talked about modification that they would like to make.

This is based on what the participants have learned and gained from their existing project or from future projects.

Other outcomes adopted during the seminar were the formation of e-Group among member countries and the involvement of media in transmission of information. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
