Joint Operation Held To Check Illegal Fishing In Brunei’s Oil Fields

Seria – A composite enforcement team yesterday conducted ‘Menangin 17’

operation at the restricted oil field installation areas in an effort to continue monitoring any illegal fishing activities.

The Fisheries Department conducted the operation jointly with The Royal Brunei Police Force and the Internal Security Department at the Champion-3 and Champion-7 oilfield areas.

The operation was designed to ensure that no foreign fishing boats are entering Brunei territorial waters illegally.

No illegal fishing activity was found during the more than three-hour operation in the said areas. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
