Bandar Seri Begawan - The Empire Hotel and Country Club began working in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank on the exclusive advertising rights of The Empire Driving Range from October 8, a press release from the Empire Hotel and Country Club stated yesterday.

On hand to sign the agreement were Philippe M. E. Requin, General Manager of The Empire Hotel and Country Club, and Hans Theilkuhl, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank.

As part of the agreement, The Empire Driving Range will display advertising items by Standard Chartered Bank and in addition, all the range balls will bear Standard Chartered Bank's name and logo.

"The Empire Driving Range is indeed a very popular facility at the hotel and we are delighted to be in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank to enhance the awareness of this facility," said Requin.

Standard Chartered Bank is also the main sponsor of the upcoming inaugural 2003 Brunei Longest Drive Championships to be held at The Empire Driving Range on October 19.

The contest is open to all and has 4 categories- Men's Open. Ladies Open, Senior Mens (50 years and over) and Junior (18 years and over).  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
