Worker's body washed ashore

Police are investigating into the death of Malaysian construction worker Nilelly Darias whose body was found washed ashore on Meragang beach on Thursday.

Informed sources said the deceased, whose body was discovered around 5pm was a Murut from Limbang, Sarawak, who had worked at a piling construction site nearby.

Awg Muzaine B Umar who had been at the beach preparing to go fishing near the jetty, noticing a body washed ashore, had soon alerted security and called the Police Hotline.

OCPD Muara Police Station Supt Pg Kamaluddin had dispatched six police personnel to the scene while the body was sent to RIPAS Hospital for a post mortem. Police later informed the deceased's employer and cordoned off the area for further investigations.
