By Tony Alabastro

Community Nutrition Division officer Stephanie Chua Meah Lean (L) and
Principal Iidil Rahma Abdullah (R), proclaims Nicole as Ms Healthy
Body.

Nurasma Aini Hj Mat Yassin gives talk on virtues of eating the right
food at Learning School.
For its Nutrition Day celebration,
Tinkerbell Learning School had two officers from the Ministry of
Health to teach on this subject in a special session.
Community Nutrition Division officer
Nurasma Aini Hj Mat Yassin advised the children to drink milk for
strong teeth and told parents to encourage their kids to eat fruits
and vegetables everyday.
She told the little ones to limit
their intake of sweets to twice a week.
Nutrition officer Stephanie Chua Meah
Lean led an aerobics exercise for students, and distributed nutrition
pamphlets for their guardians.
The pupils waved, swung their hands
and kicked around to some upbeat music.
The aforementioned invited guests
also prepared a 20-minute juice-making demonstration using fresh
watermelons, apples and pears.
"What we are drawing your attention
to today is the importance of good health and nutrition," stated the
school's Principal, Iidil Rahman Abdullah.
"Nutrition involves a diet of
balanced food that are fresh and of good quality.
"Here at Tinkerbelle, we have raised
our concerns with parents.
"Following our own food programme, we
have witnessed remarkable changes within three to four weeks, like
increased appetite and less tantrums.
"The overall result are happier,
better-behaved children who are more active and interested in learning
and playing," she said.
Highlight was the proclamation of
Hoffman as Mr Healthy Body, Nicole as Ms Healthy Body, Rusydi as Mr
Talent and Diane as the Best In Sportswear among fourteen contestants.
The theme was "Promoting Proper
Nutrition For Good Health Towards Smart Living."
Youngsters from the Nursery,
Kindergarten 1 and 2 were dressed in sports attire as well as hats
decorated with fruits and vegetables.
Together, they sang "Bangun Pagi,"
"Water Melon," "Bahay Kubo" (My Nipa Hut), "Leron Leron Sinta" and
"Inky Dinky Doo" during several intermissions.
