PERBEKAL holds religious song
competition

A group of female participants at the religious song competition.
A religious song competition
organised by the Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL) was held
at the Dakwah Islamiah Centre, yesterday. This was the first time
PERBEKAL has organised such a competition.
The guest of honour at the event was
Awang Haji Abdul Hakim bin Haji Mohd Yassin, Director of the Language
and Literature Bureau, who presented prizes to the winners.
The competition kicked off with
Nasyid performances by PERBEKAL. Nine groups, comprising male and
females participants took part in the competition. The groups were Al-Qaran,
Al-Iikhwan, An Nisa of Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque, SMJA Secondary
School, Syababul Muttaqin, AS Safwan PERBEKAL, SOAS College, Seri
Perbekal and Al-Redhuan of Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque.
Welcoming remarks were made by
Pengiran Nordin bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, President of PERBEKAL. He
said that the event was held in conjunction with the Israk Mikraj
celebration. He hoped that through this competition, youths would
develop confidence when performing songs to praise Prophet Muhammad.
Winners of the male category were Al-Redhuan
of Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque. Second place went to SOAS College
and third place went to Al-Iikhwan.
In the female category, first place
went to An Nisa, second place was won by SMJA Secondary School, while
Seri Perbekal came in third. The best performance at the event was won
by Al-Redhuan and the best song composition went to An Nisa.
