Cooperation To Be Mulled At 2nd
Asia-Europe Environment Ministers Meet

Begawan – The 2nd Asia-Europe Environment Ministers Meeting is
expected to discuss actions to be implemented in identified areas of
cooperation in Lecce, Italy starting this Sunday.
Brunei is represented at the 2nd
Asia-Europe Environment Ministers meeting by Dato Dr Awang Haji Ahmad,
Minister of Development, who left Brunei yesterday.
The actions to be discussed would
implement the areas of cooperation identified during the first
Asia-Europe Environment Ministers Meeting held in Beijing, China on
January 7, 2002
The discussion will focus on the
agenda such as the follow-up action on the outcome of world conference
on sustainability development multilateral environment agreement on
barrenness, miscellaneous of biology and changing of climate and
environment dialogue among the Asia-Europe countries.
The meeting will also discuss
cooperation on potential activities to be implemented by the two
regions.
The meeting will also identify the
mechanism and modality for the implementation and realisation of the
activities.
This cooperation will open the
opportunity to increase the country's capacity in managing
environment, especially in implementing sustainability development
agenda.
