Sixteen Papers Up At ASEAN-EC

Begawan – The Asean EC's International Conference 2003 - 'The
k-Economy: Competitiveness, survival and growth' wound up yesterday
with 16 papers focusing on the four major areas affecting k-economy in
today's society.
In his closing remarks, Awang Abdul
Ghani Pg Hj Metussin, the director of Asean-EC, said that the Asean-EC
will continue its support and drive towards k-Economy, ensuring that
Bruneians are not left behind in this ever-growing field.
He also said that speeches presented
by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Communication
reflected the need for growth and readiness in Information
Communication Technology ICT which would spearhead the new economies
towards achieving greater growth while in the process maintain, if
not, improve the standard of education.
