Rodents leave residents groping in
dark
By Hjh Saemah Zulkefli
Power blackouts generally occur due
to an overload or a powerful storm but are seldom attributed to
rodents.
A few 'copper' hungry rodents left a
section of the residents at Jln Dipa Negara and Skim Perumahan Kurnia
Rakyat Jati at Kg Mumong without electricity for more than 10 hours
Wednesday.
The pugnacious rodents reportedly
chewed a few wires of a transformer that provides power to the
residents forcing a blackout.
Kg Mumong's Ketua Kampung, Awg Hj
Mohd Yusof bin Dulamin, told the Bulletin that the residents had to
suffer without power from 2:30 pm.
The incident was reported to the
Electricity Department and efforts to rectify the situation are still
going on as replacements will have to come from Bandar Seri Begawan.
However, power to the affected area has been temporarily restored, it
was learnt.
