Brunei Launches Skill Competition
To Standardize Technical Education

Kuala Belait –
The Ministry of Education through the Technical Education Department
continues its efforts to develop and
promote the standard of vocational and technical education in the
country.
Toward this end, the department is
now implementing the Second National Skill Competition. Starting last
August, the competition included those conducted by two vocational
institutions in the Belait District.
Ten skill fields are being competed,
including commercial wiring, welding and automobile technology.
The Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College
in Kuala Belait hosts the commercial wiring while the Sultan Bolkiah
Vocational School in Seria is hosting automobile technology and
welding contests.
The skill competition is aimed at
promoting the skills development, vocational values and quality
technical among youths and workers. From this competition, Brunei will
select the country's representative to the 5th Asean skill competition
