Brunei Signs Pact On Asean Information Exchange

Bali, Indonesia – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad Bolkiah, Brunei’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, last night signed an agreement on information exchange and establishment of communication procedures at a leading hotel in Bali.

Brunei is the 6th country to sign the agreement.

The agreement was signed on May 7, 2002 in Kuala Lumpur by Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Cambodia joined the agreement in July and followed by Thailand in November last year.

The agreement on information exchange and establishment of communication procedures enable member countries to cooperate with each other in the fight against trans-national criminals, including terrorism. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
