Al-Quran Reading Event For Teachers’ Day Held

Bandar Seri Begawan – A presentation of prizes was held for the Al-Quran Reading Competition of the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the 13th Teachers’ Day celebration yesterday.

The competition was held at the Dewan Canselor, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and a total of four men readers Qari and four women readers competed in the final.

Awang Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Sahat emerged as the winner in the men's category. He was also last year's winner.

Meanwhile Dayang Hajah Razana binti OKSW Haji Abdullah was the winner in the women’s category.

Dato Haji Suyoi, the Acting Minister of Education was also present.

Sheik Haji Adnan bin Sheik Mohamad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, presented prizes. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
