Bandar Seri
Begawan - Pusat Ehsan held
a two-day Special Olympics 'Bocce' workshop for Special Teachers
yesterday. Pusat Ehsan is considered the focal point for the Special
Olympics in Brunei.
'Bocce' is an old game which has its
origin from Italy and is almost similar to the game 'lawn bowling'. It
has been a recognised game from all over the world and now it is
introduced in Brunei as one of the many concentrated sports for people
with intellectual disability.
Present at the workshop and also the
coach for running the show was Madam Lua Bee Yueh, who is a Special
Olympics Coach from Malaysia. Involved in the event were more than 50
teachers from Special schools in Brunei and those with intellectual
disability and also volunteers.
