The Federation of Brunei Malay
Entrepreneurs (PPPMB) will kick off its silver jubilee celebration
with a multi-variety two-week bazaar starting Saturday.
The bazaar will take place at the car
park area of Bangunan Delima Desa, Kg Serusop from Oct 11 to 25,
commencing 10 am until 10 pm.
The federation's trade secretary, Hj
Emran bin Hj Yahya said some 24 booths will display multi-variety
products for sale to the public.
He said local small and medium
entrepreneurs are welcome to participate in the two-week bazaar.
"Interested parties can call me at
8760680 or PPPMB's office at 2 339001," he said.
He said it would be a perfect
opportunity especially for new entrepreneurs to practice their skills
in business.
"Some successful SMEs began their
humble entry to the business world at bazaars. Therefore, we also
welcome such entrepreneurs to participate," he said.
He added that the public are welcome
to visit the bazaar, especially those who are looking for products for
Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, this coming end of November.
"Apart from being able to spend
locally thus helping to promote the growth of local SMEs, consumers
will also be keeping in check the outflow of funds.
"Products such as Hari Raya cakes and
biscuits, clothes, bags, wallets, handicrafts, gifts, toys, houseware,
decorative items, carpets and furniture will be made available at the
bazaar.
"The objective is to be able to
provide a comprehensive range of offers at the bazaar, so people have
access to plenty of choices.
"By doing so there is no need for our
people to go abroad for their shopping needs as they could get their
hands on quality products here," he said, adding that the expo would
be a perfect timing for festive season's home-decorators as they could
save on travel, time and money by shopping here instead of overseas.
"Through the bazaar, local SMEs could
also conduct a survey to explore and study consumers' needs and
demands so they could rejuvenate their supplies of products."
Furthermore he said the bazaar would
be a perfect opportunity for SMEs to introduce and advertise their
products not only to the public but also to other successful
entrepreneurs looking for local suppliers.
He said that through the bazaar the
local SMEs could build up commercial network with local or foreign
entrepreneurs who may attend the event.
"The bazaar is also meant to pool
together local SMEs under one roof for two weeks so their products
could be scrutinised by locals and foreign tourists," he added.
The federation's silver jubilee
string of celebrations was launched September 26 at a leading hotel in
the capital.
