Chinese embassy's visit to local
farm

to Brunei Darussalam, Mr. Wei Wei and the embassy staff visited the
Liang Toon Agricultural Farm located at Kampong Bengkurong Masin in
the capital over the weekend.
The delegation was welcomed by the
farm owner Tan Liang Toon. They were also given a briefing on the
farm.
The visitors also took a closer look
at the three chicken boiler houses at the farm, which are specially
built to keep young chicken and each of them can accommodate up to
20,000 chicken.
The function was also attended by
members of the Hainan Association.
The farm started operation in 2001
and till now B$3 million had been invested on the farm's
infrastructure, equipment and facilities.
The farm is using German technology
to rear the chicken known as Cobbe, which are imported and can grow
very fast. Within 45 days the chicken are ready to be slaughtered and
then sold in the market.
