384 Govt retirees receive
certificates

A certificates presentation ceremony
for retired government officers and staff under division III, IV and V
was held yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Held in conjunction with the 10th
Brunei-Muara District Public Services Day 2003, the event was jointly
co-ordinated by the Brunei-Muara District Office and the Public
Services Department. Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Dato Paduka Awg
Hj Adanan bin Pehin Dato Awg Hj Mohd Yusof was on hand to officiate at
the event.
In the speech made by the Acting
Brunei-Muara District Officer, Pg Harris Pg Aliuddin, he noted that
the TPOR has been assigned as a target in attaining excellence in
providing customer services.
Pg Harris added that the guidelines
in upgrading and improving the work quality through the various
'Management Tools' method to produce excellent job goes in line with
this year's theme of "Kearah Kecemerlangan Perkhidmatan Awam" (Towards
the Excellence of the Public Services).
The guest of honour also presented
certificates to 384 retirees, as well as prizes to the winners who
participated in the Article Writing Competition held in conjunction
with the Public Services Day, as well as to the winners of the "KKC
competition".
A poetry and choir performance by the
officers and staff of the Language and Literature Bureau was also
showcased at the event.
