Construction Of New Community Hall Going On In Mukim Amo

Temburong – Mukim Amo and the surrounding areas in the Temburong District will soon have its own community hall.

A foundation stone laying ceremony for the project was held recently.

Leading the foundation laying ceremony was Dato Awang Haji Mohd.Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The project approved under the Temburong District 2003 proposed budget will be constructed on a two-acre land.

The construction, which started early this year, costs more than $70,000. Mukim Amo has more 1,600 residents.

Residents in the mukim held their activities before at the Penghulu's resident and at a hall donated by a local company located in Kampong Selangan.

The old premises were no longer utilised since 1982.

With the completion of the new hall, the residents would have a better place for interaction. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
