Bandar Marks Renaming To Bandar Seri Begawan

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department has held various religious activities to commemorate the renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan.

A Bertahlil ceremony was held for His Majesty's late parents Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit at the Royal Mausoleum on Jalan Tutong yesterday.

Among those present was Awang Haji Saji Haji Mudin, Chairman of the Municipal Board.

Haji Kamaral Zaman led the recitation of the Surah Yassin.

Various programmes have been organised to mark the 33 years of renaming Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan, which is being held every October 4. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
